Prince Harry remains closely connected to the relatives of his late mother, Princess Diana, despite his well-known split from his brother Prince William and his sick father, King Charles, according to the New York Post.
Harry’s mother, Diana Spencer, had three surviving siblings: Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes, and Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer. Following the death of Lady Jane’s husband, Lord Robert Fellowes on July 29, Prince Harry flew back to the UK to attend the funeral.During his visit, it is reported that Harry secretly stayed with his uncle Charles Spencer at Althorp House, Diana’s childhood home.
Royal expert Jennie Bond said, “Quietly, behind the scenes, it is obvious that the Spencer family have kept the communication channels open with Harry and that their affection for him is reciprocated.” She added, “I’m sure Harry feels it’s important that he still has some kind of anchor here in the UK and, for now at least, it seems that it is with his aunts and uncle. And that has to be a positive thing.”
In addition to his maternal family connections, the Duke of Sussex has reportedly maintained a good relationship with his paternal cousin, Princess Beatrice. A former palace staffer suggested that Beatrice could play a role in addressing the ongoing feud between Harry and William, saying that Beatrice has “spoken to the two brothers to try to improve the situation.”
