Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk expressed disbelief and anger over the fact that Melania Trump and Barron Trump’s accounts were closed by the banks following the Capitol Riots on January 6, 2021 after Donald Trump lost the election. The First Lady divulged those details in her memoir Melania Trump as she spoke about the cancel culture that the Trumps faced.
“I was shocked and dismayed to learn that my long-time bank decided to terminate my account and deny my son the opportunity to open a new one, ” Melania said about the incident. “This decision appeared to be rooted in political discrimination, raining serious concerns about civil rights violations,” Melania said.
The co-chiefs of the Department of Government Efficiency Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy reacted to a screenshot of Melania’s account and said it was farcical, crazy. “This is getting farcical,” Vivek posted. “Crazy”, “This is beyond insane,” Elon Musk wrote.
As the co-chiefs of DOGE, Musk and Ramaswamy will cut down government expenditure and will fire many federal employees who are serving no purpose. Elon Musk have publicly taken many names of fed employees, and departments questioning their utility suggesting that they would be the first to come under the axe. Both the co-chiefs reacting to what a bank did to Melania and Barron after Trump lost the election could mean that some action could be taken against the bank, which Melania did not name in her memoir. But it won’t be hard either to find the bank.
After the Capitol riots, Donald Trump faced a blanket ban on social media. Melania said she and Barron felt the venom of cancel culture in the weeks after the January 6 Capitol riot took place. “It is troubling to see financial services withheld based on political affiliation,” Melania said. Melania also said she lost out on a media initiative because the private equity firm backing the initiative chose “not to honor our agreement due to personal animosity towards my husband”.
